Crown of Thorns: Stations of the Cross

Crown of Thorns: Stations of the Cross

We were lucky enough to be his friends…

Every year during Lent and Holy Week, the FireCloud team is usually out on the road visiting schools and parishes to share the Lent scriptures and the Passion of Jesus Christ.  We want to tell and re-tell this remarkable story during Lent so that we all might hear it with new ears and a new heart.

After a full year of living with the pandemic of COVID19, this is the second Holy week where we can’t be together in all the usual ways to wait and watch at the foot of the cross. Churches have reopened but many are still shielding or isolating at home alone.

The following is a recording of our reflective Stations of the Cross called ‘Crown of Thorns’.  We wrote this in 2020, as a new devotional experience for high-schools.  It has a storytelling format with narration and music to help prepare your heart during Holy week. It’s the kind of thing you could listen to alone or as a household group or family, as an imaginative way to connect with the way of the cross.

We offer this recording to be used in any way that’s helpful. You could create a comfortable, prayerful environment and light a candle. Or maybe you’d like to use a journal to reflect and pray as you go.  If this imaginative version of the Stations of the Cross creates a prayerful space where you and your loved ones can draw closer to Jesus in some small way this week, we would be really glad.
