Out of the Desert...

A LENT RETREAT FOR CATHOLIC PARISHIONERS

Almost a year into COVID 19, Scottish Catholic parishes have been deeply affected by the global pandemic.  Priests and parishioners have seen the normal rhythm and relationships of parish life entirely disrupted.  We have all had to grapple with how best to pray and practice our Catholic faith as we find ways to hold our parish communities together during this time.

FireCloud is offering a Lenten retreat for parishioners to reflect on their faith experiences this year and to provide some nourishment to our hearts and souls. ‘Out of the Desert’ is a five-week Lenten journey involving weekly exercises for personal reflection (at home) and weekly prayer and conversation (via zoom) with others who are walking the same journey.

Each week we will explore Lenten scripture, questions and music to prompt reflection on the fears, losses, hopes, prayers, companionship and surprises that COVID 19 has brought to parish life. Our FireCloud retreat team are parishioners from across Glasgow and Paisley and we ourselves are reflecting on these important themes.  We’d love to listen, pray and explore these ideas with others who believe it’s important to tend to the heart of parish life in these times.

We would love you to join us.
